Extension of Muuga container terminal

On 07.07.2008 KMG Insneriehituse AS, Per Aarsleff A/S (Denmark) and Rohde Nielsen A/S (Denmark) as a consortium signed a design-build contract with AS Tallinna Sadam for the extension of Muuga container terminal. Construction cost is 860 millon EEK + VAT. 

 
Both Rohde Nielsen A/S, dredging works, and Per Aarsleff A/S, piling works, boast long-term experience in port construction and dredging works. 

The first stage of the extension of Muuga port includes the construction of additional territory in 27 ha and a quayline almost 500 meters in length. These would enable the treatment of up to 500 thousand TEU of containers. Ca 202 122 m2 of sea will be filled, the filling scope is ca 1 153 000 m3. Dreading works are made in the area of 161 100 m2, the whole scope being ca 575 000 m3. The works are estimated to take 18 months.
